FOR MOTIVATION: Federal Regulations Cost Over $100 Billion

The American Action Forum (AAF) found that federal regulators generated $104 billion in new regulatory costs in just the first half of 2014. That is $434 for every voter! At its current pace, the federal government is set to surpass the $200 billion mark by the end of this year. FOR INSPIRATION: Oklahoma Supreme Court Upholds Common Core Repeal


On Tuesday, the Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled 8 to 1 that the state legislature has constitutional authority to repeal the Common Core State Standards. As we reported earlier, Oklahoma is one of three states that have successfully passed legislation to drop the standards. “The ruling is a stunning victory for local education and a defeat for bureaucracy,” commented Jenni White, a local parent and president of Restore Oklahoma Public Education. “What’s also important about this ruling is that parents can see that they can influence the process.”
