Many bargain shoppers will flock to the mall after the Thanksgiving holiday in search of a good deal. Here’s an alternative idea: support local businesses during the holiday season and save the shopping for Small Business Saturday. Not only can you find some great deals, but you can also support your local economy and neighborhood businesses at the same time.

FOR INSPIRATION: Federalism and Freedom of Speech

Fox News journalist Jana Winter is facing charges for her reporting during the Aurora, Colorado, shooting. Winter is a New York state resident and should have protection under the laws in New York where her actions were legal; however, a Colorado court has ordered her to abide by their state laws and turn over her confidential sources. Now the case heads to New York’s Court of Appeals, and the ruling could have significant implications for federalism and the future interpretations of the First Amendment.
