Montana is a land rich with natural resources. There’s just one problem: the federal government controls 30 percent of it. As a result of increasing federal regulation, families in the state are at risk to lose their ranches and their livelihood.
One rancher, Tom DePuydt, remarked on the federal government’s regulations and overreach into Montana: “It just seems like it’s an effort to remove us off the land, and it will.”
